Mengyao Li 李梦瑶
Assistant Professor, School of Psychological and Brain Sciences · Georgia Tech
Mengyao is an Assistant Professor in the School of Psychological and Brain Science at Georgia Tech. She received her Ph.D. and M.S. in Industrial & Systems Engineering from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Her research focuses on human factors, human-robot-AI teaming, and engineering psychology in safety-critical environments.

Mengtao Lyu

Mengtao is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the HI Lab. He received his Ph.D. in Aeronautical and Aviation Engineering from Hong Kong Polytechnic University. His research interests include human factors, transportation safety, and human-AI teaming.

Emanuel Rojas

Emanuel is a Ph.D. student in the HI Lab. He received his B.S. in Psychology & Mathematics from Florida International University and his M.S. in Engineering Psychology from Georgia Tech. His research focuses on trust repair and contagion in human-robot teams.

Trevor Patten
Ph.D. Student · Engineering Psychology · 2024–present
Trevor is a Ph.D. student in the HI Lab. He received his B.A. in Psychology & Japanese from North Carolina State University. His research focuses on human-robot interaction, feedback mechanisms, and robot teammate perceptions.

Debbie Hsu
Ph.D. Student · Engineering Psychology · 2025–present
Debbie is a Ph.D. student in the HI Lab. She received her B.S. in Psychology from Emory University and her M.S. in Human-Computer Interaction from Georgia Tech. Her research focuses on human-computer interaction and human-AI interaction.
Research Assistants

Catherine Jiao
Research Assistant · Undergrad · Industrial & Systems Engineering · 2025–present
Catherine is a third-year undergraduate student pursuing a B.S. in Industrial and Systems Engineering with a minor in Psychology at Georgia Tech. She has prior research experience in behavioral economics, where she developed machine learning models and published work on smart tip nudging in electronic payment systems. Her skills include Python, R, JASP, and Qualtrics.

Ruishan Wu
Research Assistant · Undergrad · Mathematics & Computing· 2025–present
Ruishan is an undergraduate student pursuing dual B.S. degrees in Industrial Engineering and Mathematics at Georgia Tech. She has a strong background in mathematical modeling, having won a global gold award at the S.-T. Yau High School Science Award in Economic and Financial Modeling. Her interests span game theory, AI safety, and quantitative modeling.

Irene Wong
Research Assistant · Master · Human-Computer Interaction · 2025–present
Irene is a first-year M.S. student in Human-Computer Interaction at Georgia Tech. She received her B.S. in Cognitive Science (AI & HCI) and B.A. in Linguistics from UC Santa Cruz, graduating Summa Cum Laude. Her research focuses on how generative AI mediates human interaction, with expertise in qualitative methods and UX research.

Madison Andrews

Madison is a first-year undergraduate student pursuing a B.S. in Psychology at Georgia Tech. She graduated as an honor student from Chapel Hill High School, where she served as president of the Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) chapter and captained the varsity tennis team. Her interests span clinical psychology, social psychology, and neuroscience.
